The ugly bin in the corner is no more. No, the large storage container at Eastgate Park hasn’t gone anywhere, but it did get a major face lift recently.
Under the watchful eye of local illustrator and muralist Jason Wilkins, some 20 students from the Integrated Visual Arts Program at Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School designed and painted soccer-themed images and thereby transformed the former eyesore into a stunning work of art that will bring a smile to many faces. PCSA Board member and coach, Leanne McLaughlin, coordinated the project with students and staff from TASS. Funding for the “Bin Project” was provided by Kingdon Timber Mart in Lakefield.
