The Peterborough City U13 Girls team came to Beavermead Park for their final regular season league game with a singular mission – take three points and wrap up the CGSL Premier Division title. They did just that with an emphatic 6 – 2 win over the visiting Glen Shields. Coach Mike Everson was ecstatic with the way the team played – from the goalkeeper, defenders, through centre-field to the strikers, they played intelligent possession-style soccer, used every inch of the pitch and ran down every loose ball. The victory guarantees them a first place finish in the CGSL Premier Division. They also earn promotion to Level 3 competition next year, which is only one level below Provincial.
Peterborough U13 Girls will vie for a rare double when they play in the final stages of the CGSL Cup Tournament in Port Perry on September 21/22. The team is coached by Mike Everson and Jason Borgatti with manager Sue Everson.
