Welland Buchner’s Sports women’s team just loves playing in Peterborough, and why not? Today they won the Mark Forster Tournament Women’s Division for the third straight year. Thanks to a single goal scored directly from the opening kick-off and a strong defensive performance, they defeated Scarborough United Strikers by a score of 1 – 0 in the final.
Nine mens and womens teams competed in the 22st Annual Mark Forster Memorial Tournament at Eastgate Memorial Park on the weekend.
Peterborough’s Soccer Plus Junction won the Men’s trophy for the second year in a row with a 2 – 0 win over another local team, UK Shoppe.
