PCSA Women’s team came from behind to earn a 1 – 1 tie in their final game of the Ontario Women’s Soccer League Central Region (East) division on Sunday evening (August 27). Already guaranteed a 1st place finish coming into the game, they achieved their goal on the night which was to complete the season with zero losses. With a season record is 11 wins, 3 ties and 0 losses, their first place finish gives them the option of playing in the top OWSL Provincial division in 2024. “Our goal was to win the league and to be promoted and play provincial next year”, said head coach Mike Everson. Congratulation to the team on achieving both objectives.
Emma Twohey and Liz Shaughnessy lead the league with 11 goals each on the season. Goalkeeper Riley Gillespie-Friesen is in line for the Golden Glove award with a league-leading 4 shutouts.
