PCSA U14 Girls Maroon captured another title this past weekend (July 22-23) at the St. Thomas Soccerfest tournament. The team won 5 straight games, including a 4-0 win over Cambridge United in the final. They outscored their opponents by 28 goals to 3 over the 5 games. Earlier in the season the team won their division in the Peterborough Challenge Cup. They also reached the semi-finals (losing to the eventual winners from North Mississauga) in the prestigious Robbie International Tournament in Toronto where they competed in the U15 division.
Earlier that week (July 18 – 22), the U17 Girls competed in the Gold division at the Schwan’s USA Cup International Tournament in Blain, Minnesota. Drawn in Bracket A, three successive wins saw them finish at the top of the group. They defeated Dakota Rev SC Academy (Minnesota) by a score of 4 – 1 in the quarter-final, however they succumbed to Maplebrook Surge (Minnesota) in the semi-final by a 4 – 0 scoreline.
